Things to Do in Hawaii and Vacation Packages

Hawaii is made up of a group of islands forming an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. These are the 8 islands of Hawaii namely: Ni’ihau, Kaua’i, O’ahu, Moloka’i, Lana’i, Kaho’olawe, Maui, and Hawai’i (The Big Island). Only 6 of these islands are allowed for tourists while the other two one of which is the island of Kahoolawe which has been established as an island reserve and can only be used for Native Hawaiian cultural, spiritual and subsistence purposes such as fishing, environmental restoration, historical preservation and education while Ni’ihau also known as the “Forbidden Isle” is generally off-limits to all except the relatives of the island’s owners (Bruce and Keith Robinson).

So What Can You Do in Hawaii?

Number one thing you can do here is enjoy the beach. White sand, cool crystal-clear turquoise waters and inviting waves, perfect swimming and surfing location. Diving is also another popular water adventure as Hawaii has a lot of good diving spots and shipwrecks. They also offer a diving or snorkelling trip with the Manta Rays during the night. In Hawaii, they also have one of the most beautiful marine preserve located a few miles off the shores of Maui. The place is called Molokini. You can either choose to go in the water or stay dry in the boat because you can still see the fishes through the glass bottom inside.

Another must do adventure in Hawaii is whale and dolphin watching. Hawaii is a famous destination for migrating whales and dolphins during winter season usually from December to March. Here you can see Humpback Whales, Spinner Dolphins, Spotted Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, Pilot Whales, False Killer Whales and Sperm Whales all seen along the coast of Kona on a regular basis.

Nature Tripping! Be one with nature and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains and landscapes. For nature lovers, Hawaii offers its tourists with a view of unique flora and fauna and wildlife. You can explore them by hiking, trekking, mountain biking or take a helicopter ride tour in the island of Kauai. They also have the largest zoo in Honolulu which is a home to 1,230 mammals, birds and reptiles. The Hilo Tropical Gardens is also another great destination if you love flowering plants and trees. Looking for extreme adventure? Try biking down Maui’s Haleakala Mountain at sunrise or sunset. It is one of the largest mountains in the world and also a dormant volcano and a National Park which preserves all creatures living in the volcano.

Volcano watching on the Big Island is another must-do adventure in Hawaii. Visit mount Kilauea, one of the volcanoes in the world located on the southern east tip of Big Island. You can choose to hike through lush rainforest, bike, ride or fly via helicopter. Whichever way you choose, getting up close and personal with the volcanoes of Hawaii is truly an exceptional way to enjoy your trip

Sight-seeing! Hawaii is a host to some of the most beautiful tourist spots like the infamous Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial and the Polynesian Cultural Center all located in Oahu. In Molokai they have the Molokai Wildlife Park. In Kauai they have the Na Pali Cliffs, the Waimea Canyons also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, the National Botanical Gardens and the romantic Fern Grotto.

Shop! Dine and Party! What better way to end you trip than to enjoy the night life and shopping! Attend an authentic Polynesian Luau and enjoy the great food and learn about the culture of Hawaii. Dance to Polynesian music and while watching authentic fire dancers performing. Shop and Dine in Waikiki where you can choose from the many art studios to elegant art galleries and large shopping centers.

Now that you have an idea on what you can do in Hawaii, it’s time to choose the perfect package from various Hawaii vacation packages. Of course it’s very ideal to choose a budget-friendly all-inclusive package to avoid the hassle of planning but you can always choose to go your own way and plan things bit-by-bit.

I suggest you choose a package where most of what you want to do is included or perhaps near the places where you want to go. Check out travel sites like Findmeetgo.com, they offer packages like “Half Day Central Maui Tour to Haleakala and Old Lahaina(with airport transfer)” or the “Oahu Adventure Tour to Pearl Harbor & Circle Island”. Tours4fun.com offers packages such as a “7-Day Pearl Harbor & Hawaii City, Little Circle Island or Dole Plantation & Waikele Outlet Polynesian Cultural Center, Island of Maui and The Big Island Tour Package from Honolulu” or a “6-Day Pearl Harbor & Hawaii City, Little Circle Island or Dole Plantation & Waikele Outlet Polynesian Cultural Center, Island of Maui or The Big Island Tour Package from Honolulu”.
